Mechanical Engineering Technician(NOC–22301)

SUMMARY OF THIS POSITION

Under the supervision of the Product and R&D Manager, the incumbent will work individually and with a team to develop designs for PhiBer products as well as tools and strategies to improve production efficiency.

The hours for this position are Monday–Thursday,7:00AM–5:30PM(40hours/week)

 

LOCATION:

The job will be carried out on-site in Building A,108 New Hope Drive,Crystal City,MB.

 

OUTLINE OF DUTIES

Responsibilities:

1.       CAD Drawing and3DModelling

·         Develop drawings and designs for PhiBer products.

·         Improve and revise existing drawings for PhiBer products.

·         Research feasibility and performance of PhiBer products with FEA and Stress Analysis.

2.       Field Testing

·         Conduct tests and analysis of machines.

·         Determine machine performance and response to stress.

·         Investigate and trouble shoot machinery problems.

·         Test general production parts.

3.       Rapid Prototyping

·         3D parts production and 3D printer maintenance.

·         Design, revise and test3D printed parts.

4.       Production Improvement

·         Design production tools and fixtures for manufacturing processes.

5.       Perform other duties as assigned.

It will be the incumbent’s duty to carry out their tasks in the most efficient and productive way possible.

 

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Minimum Education Requirement

Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma or Mechanical Engineering Degree.

 

Knowledge Requiremen

1. 5-7 years of previous engineering experience is required

2. Experience with 3D/CAD modelling

3.       Experience with FEA and Stress Analysis Software

4.       Experience with MS Office or related software

5.       Mechanical knowledge

6.       Electrical knowledge

7.       Problem solving skills

8.       Time management skills

9.       Experience in manufacturing will be considered an asset

 

The ability to communicate well ,in English, both verbally and in writing is required.

 

Functional Specific Training

On the job training will be provided on:

1.      SolidEdge CAD modelling

2.      ERP(Epicor)navigation/setup

3.      Internal design systems and processes

 

Comprehension and Judgment

The work requires the ability to solve problems and to make independent decisions on a daily basis.

 

CONTACTS

The position requires interaction with other employees. Sound judgment, politeness, respect, and courtesy must be exercised at all times.

 

PHYSICAL

Work requires routine interaction with staff in design, sales, production, assembly and administration. It also involves sitting at a desk. Physical effort is required to organize and distribute components throughout the facility, including walking, lifting, and bending.

 

REMUNERATION

This position would be an hourly position starting at $35/hour.

Job Title: WELDER

Nature of Employment: Permanent Full-Time Position

Salary: $34.25 per hour for 37.5 hours/week. Overtime pay at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay after 44 hours. May be required to work some weekends

Job duties:

  • Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications to execute projects accurately.
  • Utilize manual and semi-automatic welding tools to join and repair metal components using methods such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), etc.
  • Operate flame-cutting tools to shape and modify metal as required for repairs and fabrication.
  • Perform brazing and soldering tasks to assemble or repair truck components.
  • Operate brakes, shears, and other machines to straighten, bend, and shape metal parts.
  • Inspect worn or damaged metal parts and repair them by adding new layers of material through welding processes.
  • Maintain welding tools and equipment to ensure they remain in excellent working condition.

Language: English

Education: Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate. College Education or apprenticeship training will be an asset.

Experience:  1 Year to less than 2 Years
