Construction Electrician

Fox Electric Canada Inc. is situated at Unit 102, 19181 34A Ave, Surrey, BC, V3Z 0Z7 and is a well-established company that is providing electrical products and related installation, electrical contracting and maintenance services in the industrial and commercial sectors working at various construction sites in the Lower Fraser Valley, up to Abbotsford and Mission area  

 

Our Company is conducting interviews for a full-time, permanent position for four (4) Construction Electricians.

 

Candidate must:

·      Have reliable transportation and a driver’s licence 

·      Willing to travel to work at various construction sites 

 

Duties 

·      Planning daily tasks to accomplish weekly overall schedule provided by the office

·      Order and receive material and select materials and methods for hazardous locations

·      Clear understanding of the latest edition of the Electrical Safety Code

·      Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults of circuits

·      Splice, join and connect wires

·      Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications 

·      Knowledge of plans and specifications related to Electrical/FA/LV/Systems/Lightning to do installations for the entire project

·      Ensure to comply to the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) daily

·      Commission systems and components, troubleshoot and isolate faults

·      Design and construct single-phase service/low voltage multiphase for single or multimeter installations

·      Renovate electrical systems

·      Ground and bond electrical equipment, systems and structures

·      Be able to adhere to schedules and timelines and communicate back to manager regarding daily events and tasks completed

·      Attend to weekly crew safety meetings

·      Have strong communication skills in English – written, verbal and comprehension

 

Qualifications

 

·      Qualified construction electrician  or have eligibility from Skill Trades BC to challenge the Construction Electrician examination in Canada 

 

Wage and Benefits 

 

·      Wage range of $40.00 per hour

·      40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm

·      Paid overtime if required to work

·      Dental and Vision coverage

·      Extended Medical and Health plan

·      2 weeks’ vacation per year/4 % of gross salary

KEM’s is a 8,500 sq ft motor sales, repair and service facility in Kamloops British Columbia Canada. The business has operated for the past 55 years serving large commercial and Industrial customers throughout the BC interior. In addition, the business supplies and services Agricultural and HVAC clients with electric motors, repairs and parts. Kamloops Electric Motor is part of a network of electro-mechanical provider shops strategically located in Western Canada and works in conjunction with these facilities to facilitate technical solutions. 

 

We are looking for a safety leader with a strong background in the electro-mechanical trade. A person that values teamwork and a positive work culture. 

 

Duties

 

·      Repair/rewind various types of electro-mechanical equipment

·      Perform all work in compliance with EASA quality standards

·      Organize, document, and close work orders. 

·      Test electro-mechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (AC or DC) 

·      Operate electrical repair and test equipment. 

·      Read micrometers to determine repair or replacement of worn or defective mechanical parts. 

·      Use ERP system to enter data into work orders.

·      Keep work area neat and clean 

·      Assist other technicians or plant personnel in skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by the supervisor. This could include sandblasting, pressure washing, and painting. 

·      Understand, perform, and retain various skills related training and operational and safety procedures demonstrated by Manager 

·      Performing assigned tasks safely and efficiently 

 

 

Education

 

·      Electric Motor System Technician (EMST) Red Seal or  EMST Journeyperson Certificate or Armature Winder Electrician qualification 

 

 

Skills and Experience

 

·      Taking winding data and making random wound coils

·      Taking winding data and installation of formed coils 

·      Experience with single phase motors and applied theory

·      Experience with three phase motors and applied theory

·      Several years’ experience in the Service and Repair sector recommended 

·      Experience with Large AC & DC Motors (Assembling, disassembly, Commissioning, Service, Trouble Shooting, Maintenance, Repair and testing)

·      Experience with dynamic balance machines and rotor balancing

·      Experience with Megger, Phoenix, and Fluke test equipment. 

·      A demonstrated knowledge of industrial health and safety standards

·      A Demonstrated understanding of Quality Assurance program/s

·      Demonstrated experience with planning, scheduling executing and performing repair projects, in a shop environment and on an industrial customer’s site

·      Experience using overhead cranes and rigging fundamentals.

·      Proficient with the use of micrometers and measuring instruments

·      Experience with installation and removal of large bearings (roller/ball)

·      Experience with centrifugal pumps and impellers

·      Experience with Erp or CMMS systems such as Motor base or NetSuite

·      Must be able to use forklifts, pallet jacks

·      Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

·      Must be able to perform repetitive tasks

·      Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

 

 

Wages & Benefits

 

·      $41.55 – $48.00 per hour
