3 x Stamping Press Industrial Mechanics

1530309 Ontario Limited o/a International Machinery, located at 326 Patillo Road, Tecumseh, ON, N8N 2L9 (www.intequip.net), is seeking to fill three (3) full-time, permanent positions for Stamping Press Industrial Mechanics. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining and rebuilding mechanical stamping presses.

Duties

• Repair mechanical stamping presses, that require a systematic approach involving inspection, troubleshooting, and potentially part replacement or rebuilding is necessary.
• Identifying the root cause of the problem, cleaning and lubricating components, repairing wiring issues, and ensuring proper functionality through testing and maintenance.
• Visually inspecting the press for any obvious signs of damage, such as leaks, loose bolts, or cracks in critical components.
• Examine the gearbox, ram, flywheel, shafts, and other key parts of the mechanical press for wear, cracks, or out-of-concentricity issues, according to The Fabricator.
• Check oil levels, temperature, and look for any leaks of the mechanical press
• Inspect wiring for damage or wear, ensuring all connections are secure.
• Perform tests on the mechanical press to verify proper functionality, including speed control, accuracy, and safety features.
• Based on the inspection and tests, determine the underlying cause of the problem of the mechanical press.
• Replace components of the mechanical press like bearings, gears, or other parts that show significant wear or damage.
• Clean and lubricate all moving parts of the mechanical press, such as bearings and gears, to ensure smooth operation and prevent future issues.
• Repair or replace damaged wiring of the mechanical press, ensuring all connections are secure.
• Rebuilding mechanical presses involving cleaning, inspection, and replacement of bearings and other components.
• If the mechanical press is jammed, explore methods like using dry ice to shrink the die or relieving tie-rod tension.
• If the press is severely damaged, determine whether repair, rebuilding, or replacement is the most cost-effective option.
• Must be able to speak, write, and read in English as this is the workplace language.
Qualifications

• A qualified Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic or Fitter from any jurisdiction; or need to be eligible to challenge any of these Red Seal trades in Ontario.

Wages and benefits
• $36 per hour
• Hours schedule 8.5 hours a day / 42.5 hours per week
• Overtime Pay Available – 1.5x After 44 Hours per week
• Health Benefits (Dental insurance and extended medical insurance) after 90 days probation.
• 4% Vacation Pay (10 Days After 1 Year)

Pastry chef

We are looking for a creative pastry chef to be responsible for crafting delicious desserts and confectionery, designing seasonal menus, and developing new recipes for the pastry section of our kitchen. You should be passionate about baking and be inspired to create masterpieces that go beyond our customers’ expectations.

To be successful in this role you must be well-versed in the culinary arts and adhere to strict standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Pastry Chef Responsibilities:

  • Operating and managing the pastry section of the kitchen and liaising with the executive and sous chefs to ensure a successful working environment.
  • Preparing ingredients and handling baking and other kitchen equipment.
  • Creating pastries, baked goods, and confections, by following a set recipe.
  • Developing new recipes for seasonal menus.
  • Decorating pastries and desserts to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation.
  • Meeting with customers to discuss details and planning of custom-made desserts and pastries for special occasions, such as weddings.
  • Monitoring the stock of baking ingredients.
  • Ordering new supplies, ingredients, and equipment for the pastry section, when needed, and within budget.
  • Ensuring their section of the kitchen adheres to safety and health regulations.
  • Supervising and training staff members, when needed.

Pastry Chef Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Post-secondary training at a culinary institution.
  • Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or relevant field.
  • 2 or more years’ experience working within the food industry as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or relevant role.
  • Working knowledge of baking techniques and the pastry-making process.
  • Creative ability with artistic skill in decorating cakes and other desserts.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, and nutrition.
  • Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings, when necessary.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, production environment.
