Task for Hairstylists

Suggest hairstyle compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences
Cut, trim, taper, curl, and style hair
Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair
May shampoo and rinse hair
May perform receptionist duties and order supplies
May train or supervise other hairstylists, hairstylist apprentices and helpers.

Work Conditions and Physical capabilities:

High volume hair salon in the heart of Southwest Edmonton. Significant repeat clientele and walk ins. Business continues to grow at rapid pace.
Must be able to stand for a long period of time due to continuous clientele

Must be dependable in managing facility such as opening and closing business
Ability to delegate ensure completion of duties by other staff

Work Setting

Independent hair salon in one of the busiest strips in the city

Language

English

Education

Completion of Secondary Education required
Completion of a Vocational program in Hair Styling required

Experience

a minimum of 3 years’ experience in lieu of vocational certification

Wages $20.30 hourly plus gratuity
