We are seeking 2 experienced/qualified commercial / industrial roofers for permanent full-time employment in the London, Ontario area.


Skills & Qualifications:

·         Minimum of two (2) years of experience in flat roofing on commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.

·         Must have the ability to remove and install various types of roofing systems including:

o   Conventional and inverted built-up roofing system

o   4 ply hot built-up asphalt & gravel roofing

o   Modified Bitumen hot & cold applied roofing systems

o   Single-ply membrane roofing systems (TOP, PVC, EPDM)

o   Rigid pre-formed Roofing Systems

o   Tiled & Slate roofing systems

 ·         Experience troubleshooting roofing issues and detecting leaks and applying waterproofing coatings.

·         Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

·         Dependable, reliable, and safety-oriented with a strong work ethic.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

·         Comfortable working at heights and in work site environments that are noisy, dusty, outdoor, and potentially hazardous.

·         Willingness to work in all weather conditions.

·         Own transportation is an asset but not required.     

  •    Must have Steel-toed safety boots and hard hat.

 ·         No formal education required.

·         Basic English language proficiency sufficient to communicate on job sites (fluency not required).
 

Job Duties:

·           Prepare roof for installation by removing existing roofing systems and materials.

·           Install, repair, and replace commercial and industrial roofing systems, including built-up roofing (BUR), modified bitumen, and single-ply membrane systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM) – Systems also listed above.

·           Install, repair, and replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt-saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel.

·           Install, repair, and replace single-ply roofing systems, ensuring compatibility with existing roof systems.

·           Install, repair, and replace shingles, shakes, and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs.

·           Install and repair metal roofing systems and sheet metal flashings.

·           Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces.

·           Ensure completed roofing systems are fully sealed and watertight.

·           Set up and dismantle scaffolding and other safety equipment to provide secure access to roof areas.

·           Troubleshoot roofing issues and detect leaks.

·           Handle heavy materials weighing up to and exceeding 45 kg (100 lbs).

·           Ability to work at heights and climb extension ladders safely.

·           Perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, bending, crouching, kneeling, repetitive motions, and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

·           Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices as required.

·           Strictly adhere to all company and site-specific safety regulations and procedures.

 

Wages & Work Hours:

·         Hourly Wage:  $36.00 – $43.68 per hour, based on knowledge and experience.

·         Hours of Work:   37.5 hours per week (full-time, permanent).

·         Overtime may be required and will be paid in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and provincial legislation

·         This is a unionized position.  Wages and benefits are provided in accordance with the current collective agreement with Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association, Local 473. 

·         Successful candidates will be required to become members of the union as a condition of employment.

Work Location:

·         Various commercial, industrial and institutional project sites located throughout the London Area.

·         Travel to different job sites will be required.

Carpenter (Noc 72310)

Zed 3 Inc. has an opening for Carpenter (NOC 72310) to work and support the team. If you have what it takes to be successful in this line of work, then this is the right position for you. We need a person with right attitude who can support our team and grow our business even further.

As a Carpenter (Noc 72310), you will perform all or some of the following duties:

·       Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements

·       Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials

·       Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems

·       Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware

·       Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites

·       Survey building locations and levels

·       Supervise other workers

·       Operate CADD and other computer software systems

Education Qualifications: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Work experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Terms of employment: Full Time / Permanent (30 to 35 hours / week)

Employment: Morning, Day, Evening, Shift

Compensation: CAD $36.50 /hour

Work site environment: Noisy, Dusty
