Environmental Officer

Environmental Officer Responsibilities:

 

  • Assess and review construction plans to ensure environmental considerations are integrated from the outset.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments/surveys to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Advise project managers and site supervisors on best practices for minimizing environmental impact.
  • Perform regular site inspections to identify and address any environmental issues promptly. Collect samples and conduct continuous monitoring of air quality, emissions from machinery, waste disposal practices, and logistics processes.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and local authorities to ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented environmental controls and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Document findings and ensure that any identified issues are addressed swiftly and in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with site personnel to implement corrective actions and prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspection results, sampling data, and corrective measures taken to ensure ongoing compliance and facilitate reporting requirements.
  • Educate and train construction workers and subcontractors on environmental protection protocols and procedures.
  • Document and report on environmental performance, incidents, and corrective actions to maintain transparency and accountability.

Food Truck Cook

Job location:      Main Street at Chisholm Park, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, B2G 2C6

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare multiple orders simultaneously during peak periods with high accuracy rate, maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Cook food items by grilling, frying, sauteing and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Set up and prepare cooking supplies and workstations during opening and closing to maximize productivity.
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
  • Coordinate cooking activities with team members.
  • Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
  • Coach and train new kitchen helpers

Key Competencies:

  • Relevant work experience is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of various ingredients.
  • Capable of delegating multiple tasks.
  • Efficient organizational and time-management skills.
  • Understanding food safety practices.
  • Interpersonal skills and team-building skills.
  • Completion of the Food Safety course, Safe Food Handling course or equivalent is desired.
  • Able to communicate in basic English.

Work hours:

  •  35 to 40 hours a week

Salary & benefits:

  •  $16.00 per hour
  • 5 days paid personal / sick leave.
  • Meals provided while on shifts.
