Transport Float Truck Driver AZ Licence

Job Duties:

  • Operate and drive a tractor-trailer equipped with a low-boy gooseneck float to transport heavy machinery and construction equipment to and from job sites.
  • Safely load and unload paving equipment, milling equipment, and other heavy machinery, ensuring proper securement and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Drive a tri-axle dump truck with a tag-along float to transport materials and equipment across various project locations within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
  • Operate vehicles with an 18-speed manual transmission, demonstrating advanced skill in handling and maneuvering heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, brakes and cold storage
  • Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods
  • Follow designated truck routes and maintain a strong knowledge of GTA roadways to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Adhere to all transportation safety regulations, company policies, and procedures while maintaining accurate records of cargo, routes, and equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and project managers to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of equipment and materials to job sites.
  • Assist with minor maintenance and troubleshooting of vehicles and equipment when required including minor emergency roadside repairs.

Skills Requirements:

  • Must have a valid AZ driver’s license.
  • Must have Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Completion of accredited driver training course of up to three months duration, through a vocational school or community college.

Hours of Work:

  • Hours of duty will vary, starting as early as 4:00 AM and ending when the job is completed for the day.
  • Days of work are Monday to Saturday.
  • Typical workweek ranges between 40 to 60 hours, depending on project requirements.
