Responsibilities

Task

  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
  • Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.

Construction Helper

Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Helper to join our team. The Construction Helper will assist skilled tradespeople and construction laborers with a variety of tasks on construction sites. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, follow instructions, and contribute to the successful completion of construction projects.

Hourly wage: $23.50 to $25.00 CAD

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, bricklayers, and plumbers, in completing their tasks.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to work areas.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris, garbage, and other materials.
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete, asphalt, and gravel.
  • Erect and dismantle temporary structures, such as scaffolding and barricades.
  • Operate and care for construction equipment and machines as needed.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or foreman.

Requirements:

  • No formal education required; a high school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
  • Previous experience in construction or related field is an advantage, but not mandatory.

    Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • May be required to work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
