Tattoo Specialist

Job duties:

o          Offer professional tattoo services to clients.

o          Oversee and guide junior tattoo artists

o          Clean and sterilize tattoo equipment and work areas.

o          Consult with and advise prospective clients with respect to size, color, design and placement of body art.

o          Maintain health and safety procedures; and may apply temporary designs to client’s skin.

 

Terms of employment (for example, project based, permanent position):

o          Permanent (full-time) 30 hours/week – more hours may be required based on client demand

o          Must be available to work during the days, evenings, overnights, weekends – Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm

o          No overtime

 

Language of work: English, Spanish speaking preferred

Start date: As soon as possible

Wage (annually): $44,288 (+applicable commission on daily sales)

Skills requirements (includes education and work experience):

o          Senior Tattoo Artist with 10 years of experience in a professional shop

o          Minimum 2 years of professional tattoo training through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent experience

o          Bloodborne Pathogens certificate

o          Proficient with oil and acrylic painting on canvas

o          Strong communication skills; both verbally and written

o          Proficient with designing software such as Photoshop and Procreate

o          Proficient with communications software such as Zoom

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
