Overview
Rafat General Contracting, a leading construction company based in Bolton, ON, is seeking a skilled and experienced Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing detailed estimates and managing the financial aspects of a variety of construction projects.

Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed estimates of labor, materials, and project costs.
• Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Create and submit Class A, B, C, and D estimates using master and elemental formats.
• Operate computer software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and other estimating packages.
• Conduct economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.
• Analyze tenders, recommend awards, and advise on tendering procedures.
• Prepare pre-qualification submissions and reports for clients.
• Monitor and adjust contract expenditures and project cash flow.
• Set up and manage cost monitoring and reporting systems.
• Liaise and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding changes to cost estimates.
• Maintain a directory of suppliers and trade contractors to support procurement activities.

Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Surveying Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
• 3 to 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with exposure to various project types including road construction, residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
• Estimates for projects exceeding $8m
• Good knowledge of Ontario Building Code and Construction Specifications

Skills and Specializations:
• Proficiency with estimating and take-off packages, BlueBeam, Earthworks, AutoCAD, MS Project, Xactimate, and Primavera.
• Experience with hard infrastructure, civil, mechanical, and architectural projects.
• Strong understanding of procurement, purchasing, and contracts.
• Knowledge of project management principles and cost monitoring systems.
• Ability to analyze tenders and project cash flow requirements.
