1 x Quality Control Technologist

Ward’s Hydraulic Services Ltd. (see https://wardshydraulic.com) located at Unit 1, 224 Cayer Street, Coquitlam, British Columbia, V3K 5B1 has a full-time and permanent position for a Quality Control Technologist in our manufacturing/assembly facility for the manufacturing of fire suppression systems components.

Duties

• Develop and implement quality assurance programs in the manufacturing/assembly of fire suppression system components (mechanical and electronic /24-volt systems)
• Apply ISO 9001: 2015 and FM5970 regulatory requirements to the manufacturing environment.
• Investigate all product and process failures and initiate corrective action. Seek management approval where required.
• Oversee the company’s production processes to ensure they meet minimum quality standards and FM5970 regulatory requirements.
• Ensuring that raw materials and finished products checks are performed to comply with the customer, organization, and regulatory requirements.
• Approve finished products by evaluating their quality to determine which items meet the required standards for sale and which should be rejected or sent back for rework.
• Prepare comprehensive quality control reports for management
• Provides feedback on the manufacturing process improvements to the production manager.
• Conduct comprehensive quality assessment tests on raw materials and finished products according to relevant guidelines.
• Review blueprints/ quality plans of our products.
• Identify raw materials defects or damage and apprise management.
• Guide the purchasing personnel on the quality of components
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure all products meet the necessary standards and specifications.

Qualifications required

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical
• Diploma or Degree in Electronics Engineering

Competencies

• Strong understanding of the ISO 9001: 2015 and FM 5970 in manufacturing
• Knowledgeable and must understand the basic concepts of quality assurance, such as quality control principles, methods, and systems
• Able to communicate effectively with people, especially those around him/her, as well as with other departments to exchange information/data on existing issues that may affect the production process
• Must possess good analytical skills to determine probable causes of product defects and determine appropriate corrective actions when required
• Possess excellent problem-solving skills to identify potential causes of defects and to come up with corrective actions that will eliminate or reduce the defect risks
• Ability to work under pressure and time constraints while still performing their tasks efficiently
• Good interpersonal skills to build and maintain good relationships with clients, suppliers, colleagues, and customers in a work environment
• Strong organizational skills, especially those related to scheduling, organizing the workload, and prioritizing activities
• Ability to work independently as well as cooperate with other departments if needed
• Capable of handling complex, detailed, and multiple tasks simultaneously to accomplish all the tasks efficiently
• Must be able to follow up with management to ensure that products will be delivered on time and meet pre-determined deadlines
• Possess strong leadership skills as well as good interpersonal skills to establish effective rapport with people around him/her such as teams, clients, customers and suppliers.

    Responsibilities

    Tasks

    • Administer medications
    • Apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing
    • Conduct specimen collection
    • Ensure infection control
    • Monitor nutritional intake
    • Observe and record medication’s therapeutic and side effects 
    • Record medication’s therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files
    • Take vital signs
    • Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
    • Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
    • Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
    • Monitor patients’ progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team
    • Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions
    • Provide nursing care
    • Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families
    • Address and document symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions
    • Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician
    • Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment
