Job title: Labourer, plywood and veneer plant

Location: Maple Ridge, BC

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: $24.33 – $30.00/hour for 30 – 40 hours/week

Vacancies: 02

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

 

Harwood Lumber Ltd. is eagerly looking for two Labourers who can carry out a variety of general labouring and routine wood processing activities. As a Labourer, the candidate must perform the following job duties.

 

Job Duties:

·         Grade and cut wood veneer using manual tools or equipments

·         Feed logs onto conveyor and into hopper of grinding machine and Align logs manually, using crowbar or other tools and equipments

·         Sort, pile and transport lumber, veneer sheets and similar wood products during various stages of wood processing, manually or with powered equipment

·         Hand repair cracks and splits using veneer tape

·         Remove scrap lumber and wood chips for reprocessing using forklift

·         Assist other wood processing workers to operate, maintain and repair various machines and carry out other wood processing activities

·         Clean wood processing machines and maintain work areas safe and secure

 

Requirements:

• Education: None

• Experience: No Experience required but any woodworking experience will be considered an                   asset

• Language: Basic English is a requirement

 

Other Skills:

Willing and able to perform physically demanding work including the ability to lift up to 50lbs
