Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Select type of insulation required
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools
  • Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping and other application and installation methods
  • Fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs
  • Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials
  • Supervise other workers
  • Brush waterproofing cement or other material over insulating materials
  • Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment

Automobile Mechanic

Location of Work:             2231 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, ON, P3A2A9

Type of Position:               Permanent, full time

Job Duties:

  • Adjust, repair or replace parts or components of automotive systems (i.e., fuel systems, brakes, steering and suspension, engines and drive trains, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems), using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment.
  • Inspect motor operation, road test motor vehicles, and test systems using computerized and other testing devices to diagnose faults.
  • Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, transmission flushes, front-end alignments, battery installations and headlight/taillight installations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair.
  • Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers’ problems and provide accurate repair recommendations.
  • Inspect vehicles according to the Province’s requirements for emissions and safety.
  • Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives to verify soundness.
  • Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records.
  • Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.

Skills, Experience and Education Required:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience as an Automotive repair technician.
  • Possess or ability to obtain trade certification for automobile service technician
  • English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Possess or ability to obtain G driver’s license with clean abstract.
  • Ability to use computerized diagnostic tools (e.g., scan tool, TPMS tool).
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Knowledge working on cars, pick-up trucks and small to full size vans.
  • Capable of driving cars, vans, light, and medium duty trucks.

 Wage & Hours:

  • $25.00 per hour
  • 40 to 44 hours a week
