CNC (computer numerical control) Machinist

We are a rapidly growing CNC machine shop in the Durham region, offering a great career opportunity for a CNC machinist to join our team.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Lead Hand you will set up and operate C.N.C machining centres, performing various machine operations. You will be required to complete programming of all machine functions and adjust tools as required. You will also qualify all drawing dimensions as being correct and complete per drawing.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Machine components to meet or exceed standards
  • Review drawings and specifications and tooling requirements for each job
  • Set-up work pieces & assemblies for machining
  • Record all dimensions as machined on drawings
  • Report any non-conformance dimensions on drawings or machines to Lead Hand
  • Operate machinery/equipment and work in a safe manner
  • Maintain a clean and neat work area and surrounding area
  • Assist with other tasks, projects, and departments as required
  • Carry out tasks/activities according to company & safety policies, standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CNC Operator with minimum 3- 5 years’ experience
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Able to do own machine setups and programming
  • Other machine shop skills is an asset
  • Good communication skills, self-motivated
  • Haas, Hurco, Mazak and Okuma experience an asset

Location: Toronto, ON
Salary:  $21.00 hr. 30 hr/wk

Responsibilities
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Supervision of 5-10 people
• Safe Food Handling certificate/Food Safety Certificate
• Experience and specialization: Canadian/Mexican Cuisine
