Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) to support our teaching team in delivering high-quality early learning programs. The ECEA will work under the supervision of a licensed Early Childhood Educator.

Key Responsibilities

·       Assist in designing and implementing a structured daily schedule that supports children’s developmental needs.

·       Prepare and select appropriate teaching materials and learning resources to enhance classroom experiences.

·       Provide attentive basic care, including supervision, meal assistance, hygiene support, and rest routines.

·       Lead open-ended learning experiences that encourage creativity, exploration, and problem-solving.

·       Observe, guide, and support children in their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

·       Maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment at all times.

·       Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and professionalism when communicating with families, while upholding the policies and guidelines of the centre.

·       Document children’s learning experiences and developmental progress on a regular basis.

·       Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure consistency and quality of care.

 

Qualifications

·       Valid ECEA Certificate (BC recognized).

·       Current First Aid & CPR Certification.

·       Valid Criminal Record Check.

·       Strong communication skills in English.

·       Previous childcare experience is an asset.

·       Patient, responsible, and team oriented.

Tasks

Estimate the amount and costs of supplies and food items
Estimate labour costs
Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
Analyze operating costs and other data
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
Create new recipes
Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
