Purchasing Manager

The Health and Beauty Distributor Inc. (Perfumes Etc. Ltd.) has been a leading distributor of fragrances and beauty products in Canada for more than 24 years. We have grown steadily over the years to reach our present position of industry and market leader. We distribute consumer brands into over 4,000 points of sale across Canada, and we use sophisticated warehouse management systems to pick and pack. We are currently looking for a full-time and permanent position of Purchasing Manager to join our team.

As a Purchasing Manager , you are expected to have:

Job Description:
• Plan and manage the purchasing activities of the business
• Develop, evaluate and improve the purchasing policies and procedures
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
• Identify and select ideal suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability
• Manage relationship with suppliers and review and process claims against suppliers
• Manage and negotiate contracts with suppliers
• Plan budget and control the costs involved in the purchasing activities
• Recruit, train and manage staff
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure supply chain resilience and efficiency

Job Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a purchasing manager or similar roles
• Minimum college diploma in business, commerce, or similar majors

Skills Requirements:
• Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong understanding of the market conditions and trends
• Working knowledge of negotiation techniques in the industry
• Flexible to travel and work long hours as necessary
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• English language ability

Job Details:
• Hourly Wage: $59.15 per hour
• Hours: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Cleaning Supervisor

  • Responsible for ensuring the cleaning staff assigned to the restaurant; efficiently achieve the goal of maintaining the area in clean condition.
  • Supervise the work of the cleaning team (3 employees). Make schedules, hire new employees, solve issues, inform the executive team of performance, suggest training, ensure health and safety compliance and commitment to the organization.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the area meet cleaning/safety standards. Direct the cleaning crew to specific areas, provide feedback and lead by example.
  • Demonstrate a great level of reliability and accountability. The cleaning supervisor is expected to be on time and ensure the necessary number of cleaning employees are also on time during their shifts.
  • Communicate with management for additional work needed on the site, i.e. on walls, floors, kitche and parking lot.
  • Communicate with other employees in order to understand their needs and provide immediate cleaning support (staff and resources).
  • Deal with workplace related issues, ensure smooth transition of shifts.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, supplies and materials, ensure all necessary supplies and tools are available to all cleaning employees. Keep expense records, oversee cleaning budget and oversee timelines and financial limitations.
  • Maintain a high standard of performance at all levels of activities
