Construction workers assist skilled tradespersons and perform labouring activities at construction sites, in quarries and in surface mines. We are seeking a hard-working and reliable Construction worker to join our team. The candidate will participate in a variety of construction projects and follow construction plans and instructions from the site supervisor. Although experience isn’t essential, you will have to be physically fit and a fast learner.
Full Job Description-
- Erect, install, or repair guardrails, road shoulders, berms, highway markers, warning signals, and highway lighting, using hand tools and power tools.
- Assist in operating various drills and other machinery.
- Loading and unloading of materials, tools, equipment to and from the construction site as per the demand.
- Sweep debris from paved surfaces, mow grass and weeds, remove snow and ice, and spread salt and sand
- Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures, and scaffolding.
- Digging holes, tunnels, and shafts and effectively operating pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers as directed.
- Mixing, pouring, and leveling concrete.
- Preparing construction sites, materials, and tools.
- Assisting in transport/traffic control near construction site and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities.
- Following all health and safety regulations.
Job Requirements:
- On-the-job training can be provided.
- Some experience in the same field may be required.
