Position: Senior Consultant, Operations Management

Job Description:

  • Analyze and provide advice on the managerial methods and organization of the company.
  • Conduct research to determine efficiency and effectiveness of managerial policies and programs.
  • Conduct assessments and propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures in areas such as operations, human resources, records management, security management and communications.
  • Conduct quality audits and develop quality management and quality assurance standards for ISO (International Organization for Standardization) registration.
  • Provide guidance and support to the business on regulatory policies and procedures; ensure internal compliance with regulatory requirements; and prepare submissions and filings with regulatory bodies.
  • Plan the reorganization of the operations of the company. 
  • Evaluate and advise on strategies to enhance company structure and management approaches.
  • Propose and oversee changes to organizational workflows to boost operational efficiency.
  • Carry out internal quality reviews and contribute to developing quality control systems.

 

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, commerce or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a comparable role in an operations management and/or Canadian real estate context.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, organization and time management skills.
  • Highly developed MS Office skills, advanced Excel skills and excellent proficiency with Google Suite and CRMs.
  • Ability to monitor and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet strict deadlines, and quickly respond to and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.

 

Salary: $70,000–$75,000 annually

Tasks:
• Performs photovoltaic array sizing exercises to determine the optimum ground cover ratio,
array tilt, and azimuth for annual production with the use of Helioscope or PVsyst.
• Carries out DC cable sizing, AC cable sizing, and Overcurrent Protection Device (OCPDs)
calculations for photovoltaic installations.
• Equipment sizing for Balance of System including inverter sizing, transformer sizing, and
disconnects.
• Use GIS data to overlay with AutoCAD and provide accurate site plans.
• Prepare detailed single-line diagrams (SLDs), grounding plans and conduit/cable schedules.
• Use various Excel based calculators to ensure design requirements are met for both client
technical requirements and the applicable electrical safety code.
• Provide site instructions during the construction phase of a project.
• Upon receiving redlines from the contractors, provide as-built drawing sets. Or if site has
been inspected by the stamping engineer, provide as-recorded drawings.
• Based on equipment selection and site parameters, perform cable ampacity calculations for
low voltage and medium voltage circuits.
• Select equipment that meets the requirements of the customer while following the
applicable electrical safety code.
• Technical applications and software: AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Tracking hours and resources spent on projects.
• Providing leadership direction to others including cross training and peer reviews.
• Providing lessons learned to the engineering team as an ongoing process to run projects
more smoothly.
• Project Management Tools: Smartsheet, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel.
• Interfacing with clients, AHJs, and LDCs.
• Records meeting notes for the engineering team to review.
• Hosts periodic check-in meetings for ongoing projects that need attention.

 

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4 years of power systems engineering experience with at least one year of experience with
L3 EVSE and utility-scale solar projects.
• Exceptional organizational habits, interpersonal skills, team development focus, and
process-oriented mindset.
• Working knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Canadian Electrical Code, Toronto
Hydro and Hydro One distribution standards.
• Extensive computer knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
