Job Description:
Position: Early Childhood Educator
Vacancy: 1
Working Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
Wage: 21.00 to 24.00 CAD per hour

6 CAD per hour wage enhancement provided by the British Columbia Child Development Department

Tasks:
– Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
– Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
– Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
– Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
– Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
– Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
– Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children

Employment Requirements:
Languages: English
Education: College, CEGEP
Experience: Experience an asset
License: British Columbia Early Childhood Educator License Required

Food Service Supervisor

 –  Establish methods to meet work schedules
 – Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
 – Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
 – Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation 
 – Hire food service staff
 – Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
 – Prepare budget and cost estimates
 – Address customers’ complaints or concerns
 – Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
 – Prepare and submit reports
 – Supervise and check delivery of food trolleys
 – Establish work schedules

 

Wage rate:  $18 per hour / 32 to 40 hours per Week
