For groundwork, these workers are involved in digging trenches and excavating areas for building foundations or utility installations. They also collaborate closely with heavy equipment operators, helping to secure attachments to machinery, providing signals for equipment movement, and offering assistance to ensure smooth construction operations. Concrete work is a significant aspect of the job, where they assist in pouring concrete, ensuring it is level and well-finished, which involves setting up and aligning concrete forms and operating pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers as directed.
