Embroidery machine operator (NOC 94131)

Main duties

  • Repair minor mechanical problems such as broken or defective needles
  • Set up looms or other processing machines
  • Notify supervisors or repairers of mechanical malfunctions.
  • Read loom patterns and prepare loom pattern mechanisms for processing.
  • Verify equipment's efficiency. Investigate machine stoppages.
  • Operate looms to weave yarn or thread into textile fabrics or products.
  • Make adjustments to machinery.
  • Operate large automatic multi-needle machines to embroider or to sew lengths of several layers of material.
  • Patrol machines and check fabrics or products for defects and to verify efficient operation. Set up quilting frames for large, quilted products.
  • Operate cutting machines to trim edges of quilts.

Position: Early Childhood Educator

Wage: 22.00 per hour
Benefits: Group insurance benefits – Extended medical and dental after 90 day probation
6 CAD per hour wage enhancement provided by the British Columbia Child Development Department.

Main duties:
– Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
– Synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents
– Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
– Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
– Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
– Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
– Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
– Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
– Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
– Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

Job Requirement:
License: British Columbia Early Childhood Educator License Required
Education: College, CEGEP
