Front Store Supervisor

Location:       14729 Yonge Street, Aurora, Ontario, L4G 1N1

Summary:     Managing the customer service function, including cash, cashiers and merchandising.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Human Resources

  • Ensure cashier/merchandising staff comply with all store policies and operating procedures.
  • Train cashiers/merchandisers in job functions.
  • Provide on-going guidance and instructions.

Loss Prevention

  • Ensure all loss prevention standards are implemented, manage daily cash office inventory and cashier tracking, tracking sheets, PC Optimum procedures.

Customer Service

  • Ensure store employees present proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy and Dress Code Guidelines (i.e. clean appearance, approved uniform, name badge).
  • Answer enquiries regarding location of product, rainchecks, etc.
  • Resolve customer issues according to established guidelines (refunds, exchanges, etc).
  • Promote the CSI Survey.

Merchandising

  • Ensure shelves are clean and organized with proper rotation.
  • Ensure product displays are set up and taken down as directed by the AFSM/FSM.
  • Monitor inventory level and inform AFSM/FSM.
  • Put up and take down flyer/event POP as per the POP Placement / Hot Spot documents located on the In-Store Web.
  • Maintain cleanliness and ensure washrooms are stocked with proper items throughout the shift.

 General

  • Ensure standards of housekeeping and store image are maintained.
  • Comply with Health and Safety requirements: supervise employees to ensure correct work procedures are followed, communicate hazard information and control procedures, consult employees and provide feedback to management, cooperate with Health and Safety committee or representative, hold accountable any employees reporting to them.
  • May be asked to perform clerical and banking duties.

 Key Competencies:

  • Demonstrable experience in a supervisory capacity at a retail store, or similar.
  • A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Financial Management, or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in dealing with employees and customers.
  • Excellent communication skills.

 Work hours:

  • 35 to 40 hours a week

Salary:

  • $21.00 per hour.

  • Advise clients on marketing, advertising or sales promotion opportunities and strategies
  • Develop strategies and related content for direct and digital marketing and advertising campaigns and implement them
  • Manage post campaign analysis to measure and report on marketing and advertising metrics
  • Develop and maintain social media accounts, including managing customer reviews and testimonials
  • Develop, implement and evaluate public relations strategies and programs designed to inform clients, employees and the general public of initiatives and policies of businesses, governments and other organizations
  • Conduct public opinion and attitude surveys to identify the interests and concerns of key groups served by their organization
  • Prepare or oversee preparation of reports, briefs, bibliographies, speeches, presentations, Web sites and press releases
  • Develop and organize workshops, meetings, ceremonies and other events and programs for publicity, fundraising and information purposes
  • Arrange interviews, news conferences and other media events
  • Act as spokesperson for an organization and answer written and oral inquiries
  • Coordinate special publicity events and promotions for internal and external audiences
  • Assist in the preparation of brochures, reports, newsletters and other material
  • Represent and act as an agent for talented individuals or individuals with specific occupational expertise
  • Prepare or oversee preparation of sports, literary, performance or other contracts.
