Title of the Position: Interior Designer (NOC 52121-TEER 2)
Type of Employment: Permanent and Full-time (40 hours/week)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Wage: $28.50/hour

Job Duties:
• Conduct meeting with clients to discuss their needs, preferences, goals, and requirements of the projects
• Interpret and translate clients’ needs into rough plans
• Develop detailed plans and 3-D models showing arrangement of walls, dividers, displays, lighting and other fixtures using computer-assisted design (CAD) software and graphics software
• Prepare plans and specifications for the final interior designs in accordance with current practices and codes
• Research and decide on materials and products sourcing and put together project estimates
• Schedule, prepare quotations, contracts for the projects
• Prepare concept presentation
• Organize staging decors and keep stock in checked
• Place furniture/decors orders for clients
• Coordinate with other work crews and subcontractors
• Follow up with clients and site visits
• Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practises

Education and Skill Requirements:
• A diploma or better in Interior Design at a CIDA accreditted education institution
• 2 years of Interior Design and relevant experience required
• Strong design and presentation skills and experience with programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch-Up and associated rendering plug-ins
• Strong interior space visualizer
• People and relationship driven
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
• Can work without being supervised
• Mandarin Chinese speaking/knowledge preferred

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• BC driver license
• Travel vehicle
