Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Manufacture and assemble in the factory the ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning and ventilation
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
  • Operate laser cutters
  • Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
  • Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification
  • Operate plasma cutters
  • Develop computerized pattern and layout
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand
  • Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment
  • Fit and join sheet metal parts
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent vocational training in drywall installation or construction.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in drywall installation or a related field.

  • Language: English

  • Understanding of drywall materials and techniques for both residential and commercial projects.

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices for working in construction environments.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and clean surfaces for drywall installation

  • Install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners

  • Apply joint compound to fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks using trowels and broad knives

  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets

  • Secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists

  • Smooth excess compound and allow it to dry

  • Apply acoustic or texture materials to walls and ceilings

  • Use a taping machine to tape joints and embed tape in compound

  • Install metal stud framing and furring for drywall or plaster walls and ceilings using hand and power tools

  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts

  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications

 

Work Environment:

  • Settings include construction sites, residential, and commercial properties

  • Conditions involve bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads

  • Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, and handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
