Flooring Installer

Floor Covering Installer
CAD $28 – $35 per hour
Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities:
– Removal of existing flooring, if any
– Prepare substrate to ensure it is clean, smooth and level for new flooring
– Install new flooring according to manufacturers and Division 9 Floor Covering Reference Manual
– Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
– Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding
– Measure, cut and install carpeting using hand or machine stitcher, seaming iron, bonding tape or other bonding materials
– Stretch carpeting using knee-kicker or power stretcher and secure carpeting to floor or other surfaces using staple gun or other devices
– Measure, cut and install resilient floor covering using adhesive, rollers and other hand tools
– Install hardwood floors, such as strip floors, block floors or plank floors, using glue, staples, nails or other means
– Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings

Requirements:
– Minimum 5 years carpet installation experience
– Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required
– Ability to do basic math
– Valid driver's license required
– Floor Covering Installer Certification would be an asset
– Self-Starter
– Problem Solving skills
– Good Communication

Carpenter

Woodmac Inc., located at 879 Sweetwater Cres., in Mississauga, Ontarioo, is seeking 1 experienced carpenter for commercial and residential construction. This is a permanent full-time position with an hourly wage of 32.50.

Skill Requirements:

Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience:  Minimum 2-years experience

Work setting:

  • Residential
  • Various locations within the Greater Toronto Area

Tasks:

Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight
steel and other materials
Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
