Full-service Korean style restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario requires an experienced Korean cuisine chef with passion and dedication to start immediately.

More than basic understanding of Korean cuisines will be required as there are diverse side dishes accompanying main dishes and most cuisines need varied ingredients and seasonings with traditional recipes. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is need to specialist quality.

 

1. Responsibilities:

 

– Show high proficiency in all food preparation for all occasions

– Direct and oversee the kitchen staff to prepare ingredients to use in cooking

– Analyze recipes and make menu changes if necessary as well as develop new dishes

– Make strategies to make the restaurant outstanding and to keep customers satisfied

– Establish schedules for staffing to ensure sufficient help and constant supplies in meeting quality standards in food and services

– Develop plans to expand the business with establishment of new branches and accommodation of various occasions including specialty parties and banquets

– Deal with customers’ needs and meeting with them when necessary to negotiate prices and arrange menu items for specific orders and special events

– Inspect workstations, supplies, ingredients and cooking equipment in a regular basis to minimize overhead costs and meet all labour costs and food requirements with the estimates and budgets

– Monitor and supervise sanitation practices to ensure that employees strictly adhere to the standards and regulations of cleanliness all the time

– Perform tasks related to recruiting, interviewing and hiring staff, including cooks and kitchen employees to maintain satisfactory services when necessary

 

2. Requirements and skills

 

– Ability to use common kitchen tools and gadgets with high performance

– Knowledge of quality control, raw materials, and other techniques to produce and distribute food productions in an effective way

– Thoroughly understanding of various Korean cooking procedures and skills as well as prevalent cooking trends (marinating, grilling, boiling etc.)

– Ability to train the staff in food-related techniques and the standards and regulations for food preparation

– Understanding of different culinary techniques and profiles

– Enthusiasm to learn new techniques and flavours and apply them to developing new creations regularly

– Excellent customer service and communication skills with good teamwork

– Ability to follow instructions including all sanitation procedures without variations

– Excellent physical condition and stamina
