Available position: Full-time Occupational Health and safety Officer

Expected start date: As soon as possible.

Salary: $50.00/ hour

Work hour: 35 hours/ week

Responsibilities:

-Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) sessions, including What-If and Checklist, Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure workplace safety.

-Develop and manage health and safety programs, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and process safety management systems tailored to industry requirements and client needs.

-Perform regular safety audits and inspections, providing recommendations for improvements to enhance overall safety performance and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

-Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses; analyze root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

-Deliver specialized training on safety procedures, emergency response, and process safety management; offer expert consultation on best practices for maintaining a safe workplace.

-Facilitate Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments, oversee the implementation and maintenance of Management of Change (MoC) processes, and develop and update process safety information, including process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). 

 

Experience: Minimum 1year work experience

Education: Completion of college diploma or equivalent

Able to communicate in English

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience. Relevant trade certifications are an asset.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in carpentry

JOB DUTIES

  • Study blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications.

  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools.

  • Prepare estimates of labor and material costs.

  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites.

  • Maintain, repair, and renovate wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

  • Inspect and replace damaged frameworks or other structures and fixtures.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines to complete tasks.

  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.

  • Collaborate with other construction professionals.
