          Successful Independent Automotive Shop in the Town of Devon, Alberta

          Indoors, and on shop parametre outdoors

          Standard safety equipment

          Dangerous chemical substances

          Hazardous equipment, machinery, tools

          Sound and noise

          Team Player

          Ability to ensure that job order is completed to standard and to client satisfaction

          Must be dependable in managing facility such as opening and closing business when required to do so

          Effective oral communication skills

Task for Lubrication Technician

          Change engine oil and lubricate running gears or moving parts of automobiles, trucks and heavy equipment

          Grease booms, pulleys, buckets and other components of heavy equipment

          Replace oil, air and fuel filters on motor vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment

          Install replacement mufflers, exhaust pipes, shock absorbers or radiators on motor vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment

          Repair and balance tires

          Add or replace hydraulic and transmission fluids in motor vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment

          Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed

 

Work Conditions and Physical capabilities:

          Handling material manually

          Making repetitive motions

          Bending and twisting of body

Automotive Service Technician

Location: Coquitlam, BC
Salary: $34/hour
Experience: 3-5 years required
Certification: All relevant automotive certifications
Driver’s License: Class 5 preferred

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team in Coquitlam. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, hold various trade certifications, and demonstrate strong mechanical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and more.
  • Inspect, adjust, and replace parts for truck-trailer systems and automotive systems.
  • Estimate labor and parts costs, provide customer service, and advise on future repairs.
  • Road test vehicles, inspect motors, and perform scheduled maintenance.
  • Complete work reports and coach apprentices.

Required Certifications:

  • Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification
  • Tire, Wheel & Rim Mechanic Certification
  • HVAC Certificate, WHMIS, First Aid Certificate, and more.

Specializations:

  • Engine and fuel system repair, electrical/electronic diagnostics, diesel engines, brake systems, transmissions (automatic & manual), steering, suspension, HVAC, and more.

Additional Information:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license (Class 5 preferred).
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is an asset.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail, manual dexterity, and standing for extended periods.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and personal tools required.
