Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Establish methods to meet work schedules
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
  • Ensure food service and quality control
  • Address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
  • Prepare and submit reports
  • Establish work schedules

Supervision

Language

Education

  • High School Diploma at Minimum

Experience

  • 1 year to less than 2 years (Additional training provided – Middle eastern Cuisine)

Task

  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of staff who prepare, portion and serve food
  • Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation
  • Prepare food order summaries for chef according to requests from customers having special needs
  • Establish work schedules and procedures
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
  • Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
  • Supervise and check assembly of regular and special diet orders
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • May plan cafeteria menus and determine related food and labour costs.
  • Must possess good reconciliation skills ensuring sales and shortages accounted for

Supervision

  • 1 – 3 people in the areas of food and beverage service, counter attendants and food cookers

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

  • Fast paced environment having physical demand to meet customer needs. Must be able to move quickly, stand for long periods of time, bend, crouch, kneel and continuously walk.  Position provides for sitting, standing and walking throughout the shift.
