Tasks
– Establish methods to meet work schedules
– Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
– Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
– Estimate and order ingredients and supplies
– Hire food service staff
– Ensure food service and quality control
– Address customers' complaints or concerns
– Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
– Prepare and submit reports
– Supervise and check assembly of trays
– Establish work schedules

Main Duties to be completed as per the lead statement of NOC 63200
• Cook and prepare Indian ethnic foods
• Prepare and cook traditional Indian items
• Responsible for managing the kitchen operations while on shift
• Maintain inventory of raw items, vegetables, spices and dry goods, recordfood waste, and order supplies from distributors when necessary
• Maintain a safe and clean kitchen and work area
• Help plan seasonal menus, as well as menus for special events andcatering
• Help train kitchen staff and helpers
• Schedule and oversee kitchen helpers
• Prepare and cook complete meals
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food
• Organize and Manage food trolleys
• May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food
requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
