Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
  • Prepare production and other reports
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units
  • Identify, evaluate, control and prevent hazards at all stages of the food production process
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies

Specialty Foods Baker – TEER 63202

Task

  • Prepare Bread and Rolls, Middle Eastern Bread – (Saaj Bread, Meat Pies, Naan Bread, Middle Eastern Pizza etc.), for retail wholesale and special customer orders
  • Bake mixed doughs and batters
  • Ensure quality of products meets established standards and customer satisfaction
  • Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of goods to produce
  • Meet output requirements by being organized and having supplies ready for baking
  • Order baking supplies
  • Shall oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods
  • May train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.

Work Conditions and Physical capabilities:

  • High volume supermarket having physical demand to meet output of product and customer needs. Must be able to move quickly, stand for long periods of time, bend, crouch, kneel and continuously walk.  Position provides for sitting, standing and walking throughout the shift.
