Responsibilities
Tasks
Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
Analyze operating costs and other data
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
Create new recipes
Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks

Bricklayer (72320)

 

West Masonry Ltd. has an opening for Bricklayer (72320) who will work with our crew and support the team. If you have what it takes to be successful in this line of work, then this is the right position for you. We need a person with right attitude who can support our team and grow our business even further.

As a Bricklayer (72320), you will perform all or some of the following duties:

  • Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units
  • Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing
  • Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
  • Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces
  • Lay radial bricks to build masonry shells of industrial chimneys
  • Line or reline furnaces, kilns, boilers and similar installations using refractory or acid-resistant bricks, refractory concretes, plastic refractories and other materials
  • Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures

Education Qualifications: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, handling heavy loads, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Attention to detail, Hand-eye coordination, standing for extended periods, Work under pressure, Overtime required
