As an Information Officer (Noc Code 11202), you will perform all or some of the following duties:

  • Develop communication strategies

Education Requirements: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience

Manual/CNC Machinist

Barrhead Machine and Welding (2023) Ltd. (https://bmwltd.ca) located at 6128 48th Street, Barrhead AB T7N 1H2, is hiring x1 Manual/CNC Machinist, at this location.

This is a full time, permanent position.

 

Barrhead Machine and Welding (2023) Ltd. has served its community since 1948, evolving from blacksmith work to advanced CNC technology. Known for honesty, quality, and respect, the company continues its legacy of trusted welding, fabrication, and equipment repair.

 

Main Duties

 

·      Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints or study sample parts to determine machining operations to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations.

·      Compute dimensions and measure and lay out work pieces.

·      Set up, operate and maintain a variety of conventional or CNC equipment to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as turning, milling, boring, drilling, and other operations.

·      Machine medium to very large parts using the following conventional or CNC equipment: horizontal boring mill, vertical boring mill, lathe, and vertical milling machines.

·      Use indicators and other measurement tools to set up fixtures, set tool holders and cutting tools, touch-off tooling, and make adjustments to ensure adherence to tight tolerance dimensions.

·      Maintain tight tolerances and verify dimensions of components for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and height gauges.

·      Deburr and inspect parts to ensure conformance to quality and drawing requirements.

·      Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.

·      Maintain quality of parts and report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor and QC personnel.

·      Complete inspection reports and other quality-related paperwork, as required.

·      Perform daily preventative maintenance on facility machinery and/or assigned machining center.

·      Follow company safety policies and maintain a clean and organized work area.

 

Education Requirement

 

·      A trade certificate from any jurisdiction, OR a minimum of 9,360 hours of work experience accumulated within the preceding 72 months (six years), which is required to be eligible to challenge the Provincial Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal.

 

Experience Requirements

 

·      Demonstrated experience as a Manual and CNC Machinist.

·      Criminal Record Check

·      Preferred language: English

 

Wages and Overtime

 

·      $38 per hour / 8-10 hours per day / 40-50 hours per week

·      Overtime: $57 per hour, payable after 10 hours per day or 44 hours per week.
