Responsibilities
Tasks
Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
Analyze operating costs and other data
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
Create new recipes
Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
Leading/instructing individuals

The Solar Installer will help lead a team for the installation of residential, commercial, and industrial solar projects. Hours:                                             35-40 hrs/wk
Overtime:                                       $54.00/hr (As per BC Standards – for over 8 hrs/day; 40 hrs/wk)

Education and Experience Requirements:

·      Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

·      Some experience in using hand tools, On-the-job training will be provided. 

  • Valid driver’s licence & Driving record check (abstract) are required. 

·      Ability to meet deadlines in a safe and efficient manner.

·      Ability to handle the physical demands of the work (handling Up to 23 kg (50 lbs))

·      Ability to learn & complete on job training.

·      Ability to work safely and effectively on steep roofs.

 

Job Duties:

·      Install, service and repair solar panels and other solar equipment, including inverters and racking systems.

·      Conduct site assessments & take measurements to determine the best placement for solar panels.

·      Secure the solar panels to roofs or other surfaces using bolts, framing, or other materials. 

·      Ensure all installations meet safety standards and local building codes.

·      Operate power tools such as drill presses and handheld tools. 

·      Perform electrical work, including connecting and testing solar panel systems.

·      Review blueprints, technical drawings, or plans to ensure the correct positioning of solar panels. 

·      Work at heights, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.

·      Collaborate with other technicians and installers to ensure efficient and high-quality installations to meet the deadlines. 

·      Provide excellent customer service, including communicating with clients and resolving any issues that may arise during the installation process.
