Skills & Duties:

 

Construction helpers and labourers perform some or all of the following duties but not limited to this:

  • Assist and work closely with Siding Installers and Finishers, Carpenters and Tradespersons.
  • Handover wood, wood substitutes and other materials sheets for installation and finishing
  • Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
  • Erect and dismantle wood forms, nails and barricades at construction sites
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs
  • Mix, pour and spread materials, reinforce joints using nails, screws or other fasteners for smooth installation and finishing.
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction  
  • Assist tradesperson and equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, and remove waste materials and other hazardous materials
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.

 

Transportation and travel information: willing to travel regularly

Work Location Information: Urban area & Various locations & Outdoors

Education: Not Required

Experience: Will Train.

Languages: Basic English

Tasks

  • Design and develop power equipment and systems
  • Install equipment
  • Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation
  • Maintain equipment
  • Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements
  • Service equipment
  • Supervise the building and testing of prototypes
  • Test power equipment and systems
  • Assist in design, development and testing
  • Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports
  • Write specifications
  • Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments
  • Conduct safety training programs
  • Assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications
  • Carry out applied research in fields of electrical and electronic engineering and physics
  • Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems
  • Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems
  • Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports
