As a Truck-Trailer Driver, you will perform all or some of the following duties:

        Professionalism in customer service.

        Load and unload goods.

        Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.

        Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.

        Receive and relay information to central dispatch.

        Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.

        Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.

        Willing to travel overnight.

        Operate GPS and other navigation equipment, trip computer.

        Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip).

 

Language Requirements: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Terms of employment: Full Time / Permanent (30 to 40 hours / week), Paid Vacation

Compensation: CAD $34.10 /hour

Transportation/Travel Experience: Local, Short haul, Regional

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): AZ class license.

Communication systems experience: Operate GPS and other navigation equipment, trip computer.

Security and Safety: Valid Passport, Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check, drug test.

Co-ordinate, assign and review work
Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders
Follow-up on issues with work orders
Keep track of shipments
Maintain vehicle operator work records
Process and transmit information and instructions to co-ordinate the activities of vehicle operators and crews using dispatching equipment
Respond to urgent calls from individual who find themselves in life threatening situation and who require assistance
Schedule assignments and co-ordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews and equipment
Establish work schedules and procedures
Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization
