Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Post journal entries
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • Prepare tax returns
  • Prepare trial balance of books
  • Reconcile accounts

Production Worker

 

With a staff of 275 at its 3 manufacturing plants. Northern Cables today operates 24/7 manufacturing six million metres of armoured cable monthly for industrial and commercial markets. It sells to major cable distributors in Canada and the United States and has come a long way from those formative years. Northern Cables Inc. is currently recruiting for factory production workers to come join the team. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Operate production machinery used to manufacture copper and aluminum power cables, including varieties of large rotating machinery and plastics extrusion.

  • Ensure correct operation of machinery and verify processing conditions.

  • Adjust machinery as required.

  • Record production information.

 

Qualifications: 

  • At least twelve months of experience in cable manufacturing is required.

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. 

  • Ability to work on various shifts, including nights and weekends.

 

Salary: $26.06 per hour in accordance with the collective agreement. 

 

Bonus: Shift premiums of $1.66 per hour. 

 

Benefits: Comprehensive benefits after 6 months which includes health, dental, life insurance coverage, RSP/DPSP match and 2 weeks paid vacations per year.

 

Job Type:  Full-time permanent, at least 32 hours per week. 12-hour shift rotation.

 

Language: At least intermediate level of oral English proficiency is required.
