The Clarence Castle Inc. is a downtown Toronto hostel that overlooks Clarence Park. It offers a fully equipped guest kitchen, 2 guest lounges with TVs and DVDs, and a daily breakfast. Free Wi-Fi, coffee and tea are always available.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Light Duty Cleaner will be responsible for all basic cleaning in and around our hostel. This can entail dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning smudges off windows and doors. Ensuring restrooms are cleaned, sanitized, and restocked is another important responsibility.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sweep, mop, wash, wax and polish floors.
  • Dust furniture and vacuum carpeting and area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture.
  • Clean, disinfect and polish bathroom fixtures and appliances.
  • Clean and disinfect public areas in the office.
  • Disinfect the dental clinic, rooms, and other common areas.
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers.
  • Wash windows, walls, and ceilings.
  • Report and store lost and found items.
  • May provide basic information on facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Education: Completion of High School, some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.
  • Experience: 1 year of work experience as a light duty cleaner.
  • Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Truck Driver (73300)

Main duties

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials 
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Perform pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance.

Full-time-Permanent: 40-60 hours per week

Employment requirements

Education

  • Secondary school

Training

  • On-the-job training will be provided. You will complete an accredited driver training course of up to three months duration from a vocational school or community college

Driving License

  • A Class 1 or A license is required to drive long combination vehicles.
  • Air brake endorsement (Z)

Salary

$27.50/hr

Benefits

  • Overtime Pay (1.5 times of hourly wage after 40 hours of working in a week and or after 8 hours in a given day).
  • Vacation pay as per Saskatchewan Standards (3 weeks or 5.77% of vacation pay)
