Job Requirements:

 

1) Bachelor Degree;

2) Experience in both the technology and entertainment industries;

3) Previous experience serving on tech boards;

4) Experience raising significant M&A capital;

5) 10+ years experience working within Music IP businesses;

6) Established network of contacts within capital markets, venture capital, and private equity;

7) Familiarity with financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation techniques;

8) Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships at the C-suite level.

●     Lead Engagements: Take charge of complex projects for capital markets fundraising, ensuring that deliverables meet high-quality standards and align with objectives.

 

●     Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to the senior leadership team regarding funding strategies, investment opportunities, and financial growth initiatives.

 

●     Investor Relationships: Foster strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders, maintaining regular communication and ensuring alignment on project scope, milestones, and deliverables.

 

●     Fundraising Expertise: Leverage your extensive experience in raising funds (equity, debt, venture capital, etc.) for tech and entertainment organizations, providing valuable insight and recommendations on the best fundraising strategies and capital market trends.

 

●     Problem Solving & Innovation: Analyze complex challenges and provide creative, data-driven solutions to drive financial growth, operational efficiency, and investor confidence.

 

●     Market Insight: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and new developments within capital markets and fundraising specifically for tech and entertainment sectors.

 

●     Report & Presentation Delivery: Present executive summaries to senior leadership, clearly articulating findings, recommendations, and actionable insights.

 

●     Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with fundraising strategies and market volatility, ensuring the company is well-informed about potential challenges and how to address them.

About the Role

We’re looking for a results-driven Business Development Associate – Ethnic Sales to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll manage and expand relationships with ethnic retailers across Ontario, playing a key role in increasing market share, driving sales, and strengthening Al Safa Foods’ presence in diverse communities.

As part of our dynamic sales team, you’ll report directly to the Ethnic Sales Head and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute sales strategies, optimize product placement, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Sales & Distribution – Build and expand Al Safa Foods’ presence in ethnic stores across Ontario.
  • Achieve Sales Targets – Develop and execute strategies to meet monthly and annual KPIs.
  • Merchandising Excellence – Ensure optimal product visibility and positioning in stores.
  • Customer Relationship Management – Develop and nurture strong partnerships with store owners and key decision-makers.
  • Product Demonstrations – Educate customers on product offerings and help them choose the best options.
  • Market Expansion – Identify new business opportunities and recommend expansion strategies.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making – Monitor sales performance, pricing trends, and competitor activities to drive business growth.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with marketing, operations, and product development teams to align on sales initiatives.
  • Customer Support & Service – Serve as the go-to contact for retailers, addressing inquiries and ensuring seamless customer experiences.
  • Sales Forecasting – Assist in sales forecasting and planning based on market demand.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2–3 years in business development, key account management, retail sales, or distribution within the CPG industry.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
    • Relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends.
    • Organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Technical: Proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Other Requirements:
    • A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
    • Ability to lift up to 15 kg as needed.
