Job Location: 5396 Argyle Street,  Vancouver, BC V5P 3J3 and various locations in the Lower mainland.

Permanent Position: Carpenter

No. of vacancies: 1

Start Date: As soon as possible

Wage rate: $30 per hour ; To be negotiated depend on experience/ 30-40 hours per week

JOB REQUIREMENT 

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent

Experience: Minimum 1 year experience. Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role

Language: English

Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and chisels

Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction

Excellent understanding of safety rules and regulations

Good physical condition and endurance

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

JOB DUTIES

Prepare estimates of labor and/or material costs

Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements

Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools

Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials

Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems

Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware

Schedule and coordinate work on sites

Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures

Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment

Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time and within budget.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment

 

Working setting : Construction, residential and commercial.
Work conditions:

  • Bending, crouching, kneeling

  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking

  • Handling heavy loads

  • Physically demanding

Salary: $58,240.00 annually / 40 hours per week

Working Hours: Day, Early Morning, Evening, Morning, Shift
