Terms of Employment: Permanent, full time in office.

Wage: $36.60 per hour

Job Requirements

1) A university degree in visual arts with specialization in graphic design, commercial art, graphic communications or cartooning or related field or completion of a college diploma program in graphic arts;

2) Minimum 3 years prior experience in Graphic Design industry.

3) Minimum 4 years of extensive experience using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and After Effects to design assets such as sell sheets, ads, animated graphics and edit images.

4) Must have a high-quality, professional portfolio demonstrating commercially viable, public-facing graphic design work, along with a minimum of 4 years of strong illustration experience, with the ability to develop custom visual assets that enhance brand identity across print and digital platforms.

5) Intermediate lighting setup and videography knowledge for product photography and videos.

6) Minimum 1 year of advanced experience creating and modifying dielines, structural and visual prototypes to set up press-ready packaging files.

7) Hands-on knowledge of packaging compliance

8) Advanced experience working with external manufacturing and distributing partners to approve packaging proofs.

9) Minimum 1 year of intermediate-level experience operating and maintaining Mimaki UJF-7151 plus II e, Mimaki UCJV300-160, Roland VersaStudio BD8 and Omagic Jet printers.

10) Minimum 1 year of intermediate-level experience operating Trotec Speedy 400 laser cutter and Omni CNC CCD flatbed oscillating cutter.

11) Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience producing, wrapping, trimming, and mounting large-format graphics on non-paper substrates such as foam boards, commercial vehicles, PVC, acrylic, or MDF.

 

Job Duties:

– Supporting the creative director in various projects and creative tasks.

– Developing and refining visual concepts based on briefs or project requirements.

– Setting up and managing small-scale product photo shoots (lighting, backdrops, composition).

– Shooting low-budget product videos with in-house equipment.

– Designing logos, icons, infographics, and other visual elements.

– Taking designs from concept through to completion.

– Modifying designs based on feedback and making revisions, as necessary.

– Preparing files for production, ensuring they are formatted correctly and meet printing or digital specifications.

– Setting up and preparing white ink, varnish and gloss layers for CMYK channels of UV flatbed printers.

– Routine printer and cutter maintenance.

– Ordering printer supplies (inks, rolls, cleaning solutions etc.).

– Other duties assigned
